Editorial Policy
The HIREFREN Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies operates under an editorial policy designed to ensure the integrity, quality, and independence of its published content.
Editorial Independence: Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope. They are not influenced by commercial interests, political considerations, or personal relationships. The editorial board operates independently of the publisher in all matters concerning the evaluation and selection of manuscripts.
Editorial Responsibilities: The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the final decision on all manuscripts, guided by peer reviewer recommendations and the journal’s editorial board. Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished material for personal advantage. Editors recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest, including authorship, institutional affiliation, or personal relationships with authors.
Manuscript Handling: All submissions are initially screened by the editorial office to ensure compliance with submission requirements and the journal’s scope. Manuscripts that pass this initial screening are sent for peer review. Editors have the right to desk-reject manuscripts that are out of scope, of insufficient quality, or that fail to meet basic formal requirements.
Corrections and Retractions: The journal is committed to preserving the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. When errors are discovered in published articles, corrections will be issued promptly. In cases of research misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate publication, the journal will retract the affected article, following COPE guidelines.
Appeals: Authors who wish to appeal an editorial decision may do so in writing to the Editor-in-Chief, providing detailed reasons for the appeal. Appeals will be considered at the discretion of the editorial team.
